Each year The Blanton asks its loyal members and donors to contribute above and beyond their membership by giving to the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund provides vital support to areas of greatest need in the museum's newly expanded facility, and this year will support upcoming exhibitions. We invite you to donate to the 2009 Annual Fund and make an investment in bringing great art to our community!
In 2010 The Blanton will present two outstanding exhibitions, Matisse as Printmaker and Turner to Monet: Masterpieces from the Walters Art Museum.
Matisse as Printmaker in summer 2010 is drawn from the collection that once belonged to the artist's son, Pierre, with examples of every printmaking medium Matisse utilized.
Turner to Monet: Masterpieces from the Walters Art Museum in fall 2010 includes some of the most celebrated impressionist painters of all time (Monet, Manet, Degas) as well as other masters of 19th-century art (Turner, Ingres, Delacroix).
Both exhibitions provide unparalleled opportunities t see masterworks right here in Austin, along with special events and educational programming sure to draw university and K-12 students and the general public to the Blanton.
Austin donors Joe and Teresa Lozano Long have generously made a $100,000 challenge grant in support of these two exhibitions. With your gift to the 2009 Annual Fund you will not only help the museum meet this challenge grant, but you will also have the knowledge that your investment will create a lasting impact on the arts, and the cultural and educational landscapes of our community.
