The 2011 Blanton Museum Gala was held on January 29, 2011 and honored avant-garde master and former University of Texas at Austin student Robert Wilson.  Gala Lumière was co-chaired by Janet Allen, Jeanne Klein, and Kelli Blanton, and raised $500,000 to support The Blanton’s wide range of programs for students, children, and adults.  Over 300 guests from Texas and across the country attended this black-tie event, which featured a VIP cocktail reception, a special viewing of Mr. Wilson’s video portraits, an elegant seated dinner in the museum’s galleries, and dynamic musical and visual performances, among other highlights.
