Tours

The Blanton offers a variety of tours to visitors of the museum designed to engage and excite the imagination and provide a window into the history of art. Tours are available in Spanish, French, Dutch, German, and Portuguese upon request.

Please note that groups of 10 or more must schedule visits three weeks in advance.

Public Drop-In Tours

  • The museum offers themed tours on the collection and special exhibitions every Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM, every Thursday at 12:30 PM, Third Thursday at 7:00 PM, and during B scene on the first Friday of the month.

Adult Tours

  • Overview Tour - Features highlights of the collection with stops in the museum's Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries, European Paintings Galleries, and Print and Drawing Galleries. This tour surveys inspiring artworks spanning the Italian Renaissance to the cutting-edge contemporary art of America and Latin America.
  • Permanent Collection Tours - An in-depth exploration of either the European Painting Galleries or the Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries. See detailed offerings here.
  • Special Exhibition Tour – An engaging look at the Blanton's special exhibition gallery.
    • Adult Guided Tours are $7 per person.

School Tours

  • The Blanton's school tours provide K-12 students the opportunity to engage and connect with art through interactive, inquiry&345;based tours. Information about school tours is available on the K-12 Programs page.
  • School tours are $2 per student. Required chaperones and teachers accompanying school groups are free. Additional adults pay regular admission price.

University Groups

  • Student, staff, and faculty groups are welcome to explore the museum through self-guided and guided tours.
  • We offer a variety of tour topics and can create custom visits as well. Connections between the exhibitions and virtually every course or subject matter can be tailor-made to suit faculty needs and course objectives.
  • Tours for current University of Texas faculty, staff and students are free of charge. We require at least three weeks notice to plan your visit properly.
