About our Speakers
Chrissy Zappella is the inaugural Blanton Fellow of European Painting and Sculpture as well as a doctoral Candidate at the University of Chicago. Chrissy holds Master’s degrees in Art History from the University of Chicago as well as CUNY Hunter College and a Master’s in Teaching from Pace University. Before joining the Blanton, Chrissy held curatorial fellowships and internships at The Art Institute of Chicago, The Frick Collection, and the National Gallery of Art. Chrissy specializes Italian Renaissance and Baroque Painting, especially in Florence.
Genevra Higginson is the Curatorial Assistant for Prints and Drawings at the Blanton Museum of Art. She is a co-curator of the upcoming exhibition Off the Walls: Gifts from Professor John A. Robertson, and recently highlighted five women artists in the print collection for the museum’s blog. Prior to joining the Blanton, Genevra held positions at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. Genevra earned her master’s degree in early modern print culture at the Courtauld Institute of Art, and her undergraduate degree in art history at the University of Virginia.
Carlotta Eike Stankiewicz is the Blanton’s Director of Marketing and Communications and the proud owner of at least a dozen “themed” cake pans and about 100 cookie cutters. She attended her mother’s PTA cookie swaps from a young age, which led to her instituting her own annual cookie exchange, assisted by her two daughters. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Carlotta is a writer and photographer, and the author of Haiku Austin, which includes a poem or two about baked goods.
