She will focus on eighteenth-century pictorial representations from Bolivia of the so-called “Four Last Things,’ the afterlife options believed to be available for Catholic devotees.

Stratton-Pruitt earned her Ph. D. from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University. She has organized several major exhibits and published seminal books on the arts of Spanish America. Her most recent book, The Art of Painting in Colonial Bolivia, was published by Saint Joseph’s University Press in early 2017.
