Join us for Summer Storytime! Blanton gallery teachers will lead you and your family through picture book readings connected to artworks in the Blanton’s collection. Storytime will inspire close looking, creativity, and curiosity.
✸Best suited for children ages 3-8 but open to all ages!✸
WHERE: In the Blanton Galleries. Ask our staff at Check-In where to go!
ADMISSION: Summer Storytime is free with museum admission, and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Free admission every Tuesday is generously provided by the Moody Family Free Day Endowment.
DATES: Summer Storytime will take place on Tuesdays starting June 11 and ending August 13.
To protect the art, we don’t permit diaper bags, backpacks larger than 11 x 15 inches, or large-framed child carriers in the galleries. These can be stored in our free lockers in the Smith Building. You’re welcome to use soft frontpacks and strollers inside the museum. We also have a designated space to store strollers—ask our Visitor Services team at Check-In. Paid parking is available in the Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Blanton Members receive $4 discounted parking—bring your parking ticket to the Visitor Services Desk for payment. General visitors pay regular rates directly at Brazos Garage. - Explore our Moody Patio and new grounds: At the center is our Moody Patio, shaded by tall, eye-catching structures known as “the Petals.” Austin by Ellsworth Kelly is joined by these newer art installations to add to your must-see list:
