Join any of these guided offerings, created by our Education team to enhance your museum experience.
10:30 a.m. – Drawing to See: Grab a pencil & sketch pad and notice the unexpected as you make compositions in response to artworks. The more you draw, the more you’ll see! (No drawing experience necessary and all material provided.) Recommended for all visitors 6 years & up.
11 a.m. – Look & Listen Storytime: Our most popular program for young visitors! Read along to picture books paired with works of art. Inspiring curiosity in ages 4-8 years old.
11:30 a.m. – Looking Together: Ever wondered how others interpret an artwork? Let’s explore some of the visitor-favorites in our collection together! We’ll use creative ways of looking to make connections and meaning. Recommended for all visitors 12 years & older.
Zine Workshop(time TBD) – Brit Schulte will facilitate a zine-making workshop with three tracks of difficulty.
Curator’s Choice: See Page by El Anatsui (Michener Building)
Hannah Klemm, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Hannah Klemm, discusses the monumental work Seepage by El Anatsui.
Art with an Expert: Hendrick Goltzius–Family and Friends (Smith Building)
Larry Silver, Farquhar Professor of Art History, emeritus, at the University of Pennsylvania specializes in painting and graphics of Northern Europe, particularly Germany and the Netherlands, during the era of Renaissance and Reformation.
Silver will discuss the intersecting networks of printmakers, painters, and designers surrounding Hendrick Goltzius (1558–1617), the most celebrated Netherlandish printmaker of his day. This program is part of special programming in association with Paper Vault show A Family Affair: Artistic Dynasties in Europe.
Performances by Her Mana (Michener Building)
Experience Her Mana live at the Blanton, performing two sets inside the museum.

PARKING / TRANSPORT: Parking is available in the Brazos Garage. Normal rates can be paid directly at the garage. (Blanton Members get a $4 discounted rate at Check-In, valid all day). Ride-shares can drop off in the Museum Drop-Off on the east side of the museum. Bicycle racks are available on the south side of Jester Center and on the west side of the museum’s Smith Administration Building. Public transit is encouraged; Cap Metro bus routes 1, 3, 7, 10, 18, 19, 20, 801, and 803 have stops within walking distance.
