Artist Inquiries

The Blanton’s curatorial team is unable to respond to direct requests from artists and cannot accept unsolicited submissions of artworks.

Exhibition Submissions

The Blanton reviews exhibition submissions from partner institutions. We’re unable to consider unsolicited exhibition proposals from individual artists or their galleries. The Blanton’s exhibition calendar is planned years in advance and is tailored to the interests of our audiences and to present the museum’s collection.

Donations of Art

The Blanton considers donations of significant works that advance the museum’s collecting priorities. If you wish to donate a work of art to the Blanton, please email curator@blantonmuseum.org, and include the following information:

  • Artist name and birth/death dates
  • Title and date of the artwork
  • Technique or materials used in its production
  • Dimenions
  • Ownership history
  • High-resolution images (if possible) from the front and back. Images taken with a smartphone are acceptable.
  • Full contact information

Art donations go through an extensive evaluation process by the Acquisitions Review Committee. A representative of the museum will contact you to follow up on the status of your proposed gift.

Appraisals & Authentications

The Blanton cannot authenticate or appraise works of art. For assistance with determining the value of a work of art, we recommend contacting a professional appraiser or auction house. Resources for locating an appraiser are available through the American Society of Appraisers.
