Curatorial Inquiries

Artist Inquiries

Due to the volume of inquiries received, the Blanton Museum of Art cannot respond to direct requests from artists. Unfortunately, the museum is unable to accept unsolicited submissions of artworks from artists, whether physically, electronically, or in print.

Exhibition Submissions

The Blanton Museum of Art will review exhibition submissions from partner institutions. However, the museum is unable to consider unsolicited exhibition proposals from individual artists or their galleries. The Blanton’s exhibition calendar is planned years in advance and is tailored to the interests of our audiences and to present the museum’s collections.

Donations of Art

The Blanton Museum of Art will consider donations of significant works that advance the museum’s collecting priorities. If you wish to donate a work of art to the Blanton, please send an email to curator@blantonmuseum.org, including the following information:

• Artist name and birth/death dates
• Title and date of the artwork
• Technique or materials used in its production and dimensions
• Ownership history
• High-resolution images of the artwork, if possible, from the front and the back. Images taken with a smartphone are acceptable
• Your full contact information

Art donations are considered by the Acquisitions Review Committee and go through an extensive evaluation process. A representative of the museum will contact you to follow up on the status of your proposed gift.

Appraisals and Authentications

The museum cannot authenticate or appraise works of art. For assistance with determining the value of a work of art, we recommend contacting a professional appraiser or auction house. Resources for locating an appraiser are available through the American Society of Appraisers.
