It’s a vibe every second Saturday. Enjoy live music on the Moody Patio and explore the ever-changing galleries—open late till 8 p.m. Plus, dive deeper into the art with curator-led tours and art talks.

Hours for Second Saturdays are extending in September: Please note that beginning September 14, 2024, Second Saturdays will take place the entire day from 10am-8pm. Second Saturday admission rates apply.

3-8pm Pop-Up Exhibition: Let’s Dance! (Michener Building)
Boogie on over to our H-E-B Study Room to view this Pop-up Print Exhibition featuring a selection of prints that celebrate dance in its many forms! Spanning the 15th century to the present day, Let’s Dance! highlights a diverse range of artists including Mary Cassatt, Yasuo Kuniyoshi, and Miguel Covarrubias. See how artists have been inspired by dance movements from ballet to the lindy hop and everything in between.

5pm – Art with an Expert: R. Eric McMaster (Capitol Room, Smith Building)
Take a deep dive into art, art histories, and more with these hour-long talks presented by distinguished art professionals. Claire Howard, Associate Curator, Collections and Exhibitions at the Blanton Museum of Art, will be joined by artist R. Eric McMaster whose work Compressions is currently featured in the Film & Video Gallery.

Live Music + Swing Lessons (Michener Building)
The Golden Hour Heptet will perform swing music inside the museum, plus you’ll get the chance to practice your moves with dance lessons led by Austin Swing Syndicate before the sets.
– 3:30pm-4pm & 5:30pm-6pm: Swing dance lessons from Austin Swing Syndicate
