Bscene at the Blanton

Friday, October 28
6 - 10 p.m.

Andy Warhol said, “One’s company, two’s a crowd, and three’s a party.”

Join us as we attempt to recreate the iconic Andy Warhol “Exploding Plastic Inevitable” events of late 1960s. Local psychedelic band Christian Bland and the Revelators is bound to blow your mind, especially when combined with the vintage lighting experience specially designed by The Mustachio Light Show and Ether Wave.

Create your own Warhol screen test in our video photo booth courtesy of My Event is the Bomb. Join our friends from Culture Map for a special art activity.

What to wear? Come dressed up as Warhol himself or your favorite “It Girl” and join in our costume contest! Arrive by 7pm for a chance to be entered. Participants will be selected and photographed on-site, and their photos will be uploaded to the Blanton’s Twitter feed. Guests and followers can vote for the winners by liking their favorite costumes on Twitter! The top three most-liked photos will receive prizes from the Blanton Museum Shop. Winners will be announced at 9pm.

Cash bars will serve beer, wine and a tripped out specialty drink and (just in case you get the munchies), the Soup Peddler will be standing by selling soup (what else?).

The outdoor member lounge will feature a private cash bar, Voodoo Doughnuts, and exhibition-inspired activities.
