The music ensemble will join us again at the Blanton, this time to deliver a program related to our current rotation of the Art of the Spanish Americas’ galleries that, through paintings from the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Collection, explore the relationship between Politics and Religion in the colonial period. The Orchestra will perform works by Santiago Billoni, Ignacio Jerúsalem, and Roque Ceruti, Italian musicians who migrated to Durango, Mexico City and Lima in the 18th century to the enhancement of each local musical scene.
Free admission every Thursday is made possible by The Moody Foundation. On the third Thursday of each month, the museum remains open until 9 pm.
The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Paid parking is available in the Blanton/Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Parking is $4; bring your ticket with you to the front desk of the museum.
