Gallery Teacher Program

Gallery Teacher Program

Role & Expectations

Every two years, the Blanton recruits friendly and engaging volunteers to teach student groups of all ages in our galleries. We welcome educators with a variety of experiences and skills.

Volunteer Gallery Teachers must:
• Attend 24 hours of initial training sessions at the Blanton.
• Attend occasional two-hour workshops on Monday mornings throughout the year.
• Be available for teaching assignments between 10 AM and 2 PM on at least one weekday per week (Tuesday – Sunday).
• Make a 2-year minimum commitment (1-year contracts available for current UT students).
• Demonstrate an ability to lead conversations on a variety of themes in art, from social issues to mindfulness.

How to Join

Ready to join? The Blanton is currently recruiting a new cohort of Volunteer Gallery Teachers, to begin training and teaching in Fall 2024. Please submit an application by Friday, July 12, 2024 to be considered for the Gallery Teacher Program.

Interviews, selections, and initial training will take place in August 2024. Our Gallery Teacher program is competitive and in high demand. Please note that an application does not guarantee selection for the program.
