Grab your leather jacket and get your motor running! Join us for an evening of wanderlust-fueled delight and surround yourself with the nostalgia of the American road trip experience in honor of the opening of ’The Open Road’ photography exhibition.

TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE DOOR

3:00 pm – Tune in to Sun Radio broadcasting live from the museum & listen to Mark Murray who will be sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews at the Blanton plus a great road-trip inspired playlist.

6:00 pm – Sun Radio will perform a live-broadcast, followed by a road-trip worthy DJ set from Mark Murray.

8:00 pm – Dance the night away with Guitar Legs featuring Rosie Flores & Sophia Johnson who will perform 2 sets of American rock-and-roll to keep your feet tapping!

Drinks and food will be available for purchase, including mini hot dogs and waffle fries. Our Blanton cafe will also be open if you’re looking for other options.

Blanton Museum members can enjoy a custom member lounge sponsored by Revival Cycles, including a private bar with its own signature cocktail and a complimentary road trip themed snack bar. Lounge activities will include leather bookmark making with Tandy Leather.

GUIDED TOURS of ’The Open Road’ are available at 6:00 pm, 6:30 pm & 7:00 pm.  Tickets go quickly so be sure to sign up for a tour as soon as you can.

MUSEUM SHOP PRIZE DRAW: Enter your name into the drawings for Museum Shop gift cards! Sign-up at our desk which will be set-up within our atrium. Drawings will be at 7:30pm and 9:00pm in our Museum shop across the plaza. Entrants must be present to win.

TICKETS: $12 (adults & children)/FREE for Blanton Members

The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Paid parking is available in the Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Please note that due to sports events taking place on campus, parking will be $5.  Please be aware you may have to purchase a ticket from the parking attendant upon entry prior to entering the museum.  

A UT construction project will fence off some paths to the Blanton from 8.16.17 – 1.31.18. 
The drop-off area and disabled parking spaces on Jester Circle (between Jester Dorm and the museum) will be inaccessible.

Visitors will still be able to access the museum via the sidewalk on MLK Jr. Blvd, and disabled parking is still available in the Brazos Garage.
