Beat the Rush: Bamako Airlines

Austin-based Afrocentric band Bamako Airlines is composed of nine veteran musicians who love the polyrhythmic, electric nature of 1970s’ era Afropop.  Hints of jazz, Latin, rock, and Indian classical music permeate throughout their music. Exploring genres with roots 5,000 miles away, Bamako Airlines keeps Austin dancing!

Beat the Rush is a performance series that features live music inspired by visual art on view.

Museum admission is always free on Thursdays. On the third Thursday of each month, the museum remains open until 9 pm.

The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.  Paid parking is available in the Blanton/Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Parking is $4; bring your ticket with you to the front desk of the museum.
