Enjoy some jazz interpretations over your lunch break and join us for a special premiere of new works by The University of Texas at Austin Jazz Composition department, created in response to our exhibition, “Making Africa: A Continent of Contemporary Design.”
AIME, the Alternative Improvised Music Ensemble, are a select group of jazz musicians at UT’s Butler School of Music, and performers at this event will include Matt Maldonado and Paulo Santos (Saxophones and Woodwinds), Jessica Mortensen (Tenor Saxophone),Teles Sanchez (Guitar), Cameron Riggs (Piano), Thomas Wenglinski (Keyboard), Chris Loveland (Bass), Zach Kursman (Drums), Dr. John Mills (Conductor)
This event is included in the price of admission. Free for members and UT students, faculty, and staff.
The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Paid parking is available in the Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Parking is $4; bring your ticket with you to the museum.
