Event Details

Join us for Summer Storytime! Our trained gallery teachers will read picture books carefully chosen to inspire creativity and curiosity for you and your family. Guiding prompts will encourage close looking at works of art in the Blanton’s galleries.

Meet us in the Meredith Lounge on the 2nd floor of the museum, Tuesdays, Thursdays (starting 7/13), and Saturdays at 10:30am. The last Saturday event will take place July 29. Summer Storytime is free with museum admission, and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. ✸Appropriate for readers 3-8 years old but open to all ages!✸

To protect the art, we don’t permit diaper bags, backpacks larger than 11 x 15 inches, or large-framed child carriers in the galleries. These can be stored in our free lockers in the Smith Building. You’re welcome to use soft frontpacks and strollers inside the museum. We also have a designated space to store strollers—ask our Visitor Services team at Check-In. For more information, check our FAQs page.

Paid parking is available in the Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Blanton Members receive $4 discounted parking—bring your parking ticket to the Visitor Services Desk for payment. General visitors pay regular rates directly at Brazos Garage.
