Curated Conversations

2020tue12may5:00 pmCurated ConversationsWhat Makes a Mother: Variations on the Maternal in Art

Event Details

This time of year, thoughts turn to the moms in our lives, but…what really defines a mother? Giving birth? Or can it be the act of nurturing, caretaking, and loving – of simply being maternal?

Join us for an exploration of motherly relationships and roles as depicted in a range of works from the Blanton. Featuring a live “Ask Me Anything”-style Q&A with curators Holly Borham and Rosario Granados, and Blanton Fellow of European Painting and Sculpture Chrissy Zappella.

While you’re enjoying this artful exploration of motherhood, go ahead and treat yourself to a well-deserved drink– perhaps one of the mimosas (alcoholic and non-) we’ve provided recipes for here.
