4–8pm – Pop Up Print Exhibition: Figures in Focus (H-E-B Study Room, Michener Building)

Drawing from the Blanton Museum’s growing photography collection, this pop-up exhibition in the H-E-B Study Room will feature modern and contemporary photographs that take the human figure as their central subject. Using a variety of photographic techniques, artists capture the body in a range of settings, from staged portraiture in the photographer’s studio, to interactions with the natural landscape, and in the kaleidoscopic whirl of a carnival ride. These artists illustrate the power of photography to shape perception, identity, and vision itself. Figures in Focus includes works by James Luna, Shirin Neshat, Zanele Muholi, Robert Rauschenberg, Cindy Sherman, and others.
