Austin Museum Day 2022
Event Details
We are thrilled to be one of dozens of Austin area museums offering free entry in this annual celebration of art, culture, history, music, nature, science, and play!
During your visit, look out for these special exhibitions:
- Painted Cloth: Fashion and Ritual in Colonial Latin America – Feast your eyes on this major show, bringing together exquisite paintings and real garments from 17th- and 18th-century Latin America, including loans from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art & Brooklyn Museum. On view in our Butler gallery.
- Njideka Akunyili Crosby – Explore this intimate show by the Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist showcasing four recent works made during the Covid-19 pandemic. On view in our Contemporary project gallery.
- Ellsworth Kelly: Postcards – This whimsical presentation showcases the artist’s humor through his lifelong, yet little-known, practice of collaged postcards. On view in our Paper Vault gallery.
