Celebrate ancient Maya art and contemporary Latino art at B Scene! DJ sets from Chulita Vinyl Club and Grammy Award-winning producer Adrian Quesada will set the tone as you explore two new exhibitions late into the night. Plus, hear from the Blanton’s first curator of Latino art, Claudia Zapata, and slow it down with art during signature Slow Looking tours.

SCHEDULE (times subject to change)
— 6:00 p.m. Chulita Vinyl Club.
— 8:00 p.m. Latino art tour by Claudia Zapata. Upon arrival, check with our Visitor Services team for more info on this tour.
— 8:30 p.m. Adrian Quesada [DJ Set].
— 6:30 p.m. & 9.00 p.m. Slow Looking art experiences. Meet at the top of the main staircase 5 minutes before the tour.

BITES & BEVS
— Blanton Members get exclusive access to the Member’s Lounge and complimentary bites and beverages by Comedor and Garage.
— Drinks and food will be available for purchase from Tamale Addiction and Four Brothers “Venezuelan Kitchen.”

Enjoy late access till 10pm to Austin and our galleries, our Museum Store, and these special exhibitions:

Forces of Nature: Ancient Maya Art from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art – This exhibition explores the rich world of the supernatural in ancient Maya art, through 200 works from LACMA’s notable collection — including ceramic vessels and figurines, and greenstone jewelry from present-day Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. On view in our Butler Gallery.

Unbreakable: Feminist Visions from the Gilberto Cárdenas and Dolores Garcia Collection – This show presents artworks with an emphasis on Latina and Chicana artists and their stories of survival and resilience. On view in our Latino art gallery.

If the Sky Were Orange: Art in the Time of Climate Change – This special two-part exhibition explores the history and contemporary urgency of climate-related issues. Guest curated by journalist Jeff Goodell. On view in our Contemporary Project, Paper Vault, and Film & Video galleries.
