Join Chrissy Zappella, Blanton Fellow of European Art, for an in-depth conversation in our European gallery about the Blanton’s newly-conserved sculpture of ’The Education of the Virgin’ by Spanish Baroque artist Luisa Roldán.
Chrissy will reveal her post-conservation discoveries and discuss the historical and cultural importance of the sculpture, which was made by one of the world’s earliest—and arguably greatest—female sculptors. Chrissy is a specialist in Renaissance and Baroque art and joins the Blanton most recently from The Art Institute of Chicago, where she was a curatorial fellow in the Department of European Paintings.
Thursdays are FREE admission at the museum. The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Paid parking is available in the Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Parking is $4; bring your ticket with you to the museum.
