Join Chrissy Zappella, Blanton Fellow of European Art, Painting and Sculpture, for an in-depth discussion of two mythological paintings that uses historical context as well as technical and stylistic examination to analyze themes of gender and sexual politics in the ancient, early-modern, and contemporary world. This is our first “Old Masters/ Modern World” lecture, a series of talks that critically explore the continued relevance of centuries-old artworks to the lives of viewers today.

**This talk touches on themes of sexual violence against women.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the talk. Our gallery talks can accommodate large groups, but we encourage you to check-in with our Visitor Services Desk to secure your place. Thursdays are free admission at the museum. The Blanton is located at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Paid parking is available in the Brazos Garage on Brazos Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Parking is $4; bring your ticket with you to the museum.
