Talks are free and take place every Tuesday at noon CST. For a list of upcoming programs and more information, please visit texastalksart.org.

Virginia Lee Montgomery (b. 1986, Houston, TX), who prefers the moniker VLM, earned her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin (2008) and an MFA in sculpture from Yale University (2016). VLM works as a professional scribe, or Graphic Facilitator, traveling the country to diagram the development of ideas at group meetings and conferences, a role which serves as an entry point for several of her video works. She has had numerous solo shows at museums and galleries world-wide, including Hesse Flatow, New York (2020); Lawndale Art Center, Houston (2020); New Museum, New York (2019); Times Square Arts Alliance (2019).
Her sculpture, video, and performances have been included in over 70 group exhibitions, including The Socrates Annual, Socrates Sculpture Park (2018). More recently, her work was featured in “Exquisite Corpse of the Surreal” at the Menil Collection, Houston (2020); “Virtual Dream Center: PreCog Screening” at the Queens Museum (2019); the New York Independent Film Festival (2019); “An unbound knot in the wind: Anna Betbeze, Louise Bourgeois, Youmna Chlala, Virginia Lee Montgomery, David Wojnarowicz” at Hessel Museum of Art, CSS Bard, Hudson, NY (2018). She lives in Texas and works between Texas and New York.
Veronica Roberts joined the Blanton in 2013 as Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art. Among the exhibitions she has organized are: Converging Lines: Eva Hesse and Sol LeWitt, Nina Katchadourian: Curiouser, and Ed Ruscha: Drum Skins. Prior to working at the Blanton, Veronica worked at the Museum of Modern Art, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Whitney Museum of American Art.
