CLOSURES
The Blanton Museum will be closed on the following days:
SECOND SATURDAYS
Every second Saturday, come hang on the Blanton’s new Moody Patio. Enjoy live DJ sets on the museum’s redesigned grounds and a variety of programs throughout the museum, from tours to poetry readings to pop-up exhibitions. Local food and drinks for sale; picnics encouraged. Galleries open till 8 p.m.
ADMISSION: $20 (Ages 6-17: $10; 5 & under: Free)

FREE TUESDAYS
Visitors get free admission every Tuesday. Check-in required.
Free admission every Tuesday is generously provided by the Moody Family Free Day Endowment.
REFUND POLICY
The Blanton has a “no refunds” policy. If you are unable to visit, your ticket purchase is considered a donation to the museum. For questions or assistance, please contact a member of our Visitor Services team at 512.471.5482 during regular operating hours.
PARKING INFORMATION
Garage Parking
Parking is available at the Brazos Garage:
- Blanton Members receive $4 discounted parking. Present your ticket for payment at the Check-In Desk. Cash, credit/debit card, and Apple Pay accepted.
- General visitors pay regular garage rates directly at Brazos Garage.
The Trinity Garage is three blocks from the museum on the corner of MLK Blvd. and Trinity St. and is the closest UT Garage to the museum if the Brazos Garage is full.
Please note that there is no parking in either the Trinity or Brazos Garages on UT home football game days. On home volleyball game days, the Brazos Garage will charge a prepaid $15 cash admission fee. On these dates during select hours, the Blanton’s typical discounted garage rate for members will not be available.

Other Nearby Parking
The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, located across the street from the Blanton, has an underground parking garage that charges $15 per vehicle for all-day parking.
Accessible Parking
The Brazos Garage has a large number of accessible parking spaces on the ground floor near the entrance and the exit. The Blanton is happy to help facilitate your arrival; please call the Visitor Services Desk at 512.471.5482 for assistance or email accessibility@blantonmuseum.org.
Bicycle & Scooter Parking
Bicycle racks are located near MLK Jr. Blvd. on the west side of the Blanton’s Smith Building. Another rack is available outside Jester Circle, north of Brazos St. in between the Michener Gallery Building and Brazos Garage. Don’t forget to bring your own lock! Bicycle parking is at your own risk.
Scooter-users can dismount in these same locations.

Public Transit
The Blanton is convenient to a number of Cap Metro transit lines. Routes: 1, 3, 7, 10, 18, 19, 20, 801 and 803 will get you there! The closest stops are:

Bicycle
The easiest routes to the Blanton on a bicycle are via MLK Blvd. from the east and west, Speedway from the north, and Lavaca St. or Trinity St. from the south.
Car
Dropping off: The Museum Drop-Off is located on the east side of the museum on Brazos St.
Parking: The closest parking to the Blanton is at the Brazos Garage, at 210 E. MLK Blvd. See “Parking,” above, for more information.
School Bus
Buses should plan to drop off students at the Museum Drop-Off, located on the east side of the Michener Gallery Building, directly across from Brazos Garage. Students will then follow a short pathway to the museum entrance.
Bus parking near the Blanton is extremely limited. Please plan ahead.
Chaperones can park in the Brazos Garage to the east of the museum. Garage rates will apply.
WIFI ACCESS
A complimentary wireless Internet access service – “utguest” – is available courtesy of The University of Texas at Austin. “utguest” provides campus visitors basic WiFi Internet access (web and VPN). Visitors simply select “utguest” to connect (no accounts, codes, coupons, or charges are required).
FACILITY RENTALS AT THE BLANTON
In August 2020, the Blanton discontinued its facility rental program.
The Blanton is no longer accepting reservations or inquiries for events, rentals, weddings, conferences, meetings, or non-editorial photo shoots in its buildings, spaces, or grounds. This includes requests from both on-campus and off-campus entities and individuals.
